Inga's New Life
Ever since we knew that it's gonna be a boy, my husband and I started looking for the right-beautiful-meaningful name for our baby boy. Since name is part of parents' prayer, we want it to be right.
We've been looking up in baby name books. My mom lend me 'Nama Bayi Islami', I bought one too. My friend lend me 'Nama Bayi Mancanegara', 'Nama Bayi Dunia'.
I was thinking of giving him either Firman or Yudi but then we found out that Yudi is one of Azahari's team member who got arrested or even shot. Huhuhu... so long Yudi...
I made a poll in FS and turned out that 66.66% advised me to give other name than Firman / Yudi. Huhuhuhu.. so long Firman...
I had a chat with my cousin, Piki, he was browsing to some Islamic baby name sites. He learned that there are prohibited name. For instance: Abdul which means slave, should be followed by Allah. Abdullah which means Allah's slave. You can't name someone Abdul Rahman, Abdul 'Something' because they mean somebody else's slave while you can only be Allah's slave. Hard eh?
Another example of good names is using Allah's name, but there are also some prohibited names, for instance Almighty, The Sovereigner, something that's too gracious that only God can do.
Questions from us:
1. Should good name be Islamic? Well at least name shows your moslem identity.
2. Should Islamic name be Arabic? Like only Arabians are moslem...
Phew.. naming can be really hard :)
